This means we are not reimbursed by health insurers. Below, we explain why we made this choice.<\/p><p>This is a conscious choice made by owners Priscilla and Joost. We don&#039;t believe in diagnoses and imposed care. Unfortunately, this is the case when working with health insurers.<\/p><p><b>Disadvantages of health insurance:<\/b><\/p><p>- Long waiting times<\/p><p>- Diagnoses that must be given. For example, if your symptoms match the diagnosis of depressive disorder (this will be recorded in your medical record), and your health insurer reimburses 10 sessions, you will be reimbursed for ten sessions.<\/p><p>You will then be treated according to the depressive disorder protocol (using a specific checklist that you check off). If this isn&#039;t sufficient, you will have to re-register, and they can assess what else fits your situation. This does mean you will still receive a diagnosis.<\/p><p>Because your diagnosis(es) will be included in your medical record, this can have disadvantages for your future. For example, if you&#039;d like to work in the military and you have these labels, you won&#039;t pass the psychological tests.<\/p><p>Besides being bound by those guidelines, you also have to fill out lengthy questionnaires with your clients. If something is wrong, it&#039;s returned to you and you have to fill it out again.<\/p><p>- The administrative time is so significant that you have to factor it into your session. Our sessions are 60 minutes long. If you work according to your health insurer&#039;s schedule, you should make that 45 minutes, as you&#039;ll need at least another 15 minutes for reporting.<\/p><p>We&#039;d rather spend that time with you.<\/p><p><b>Reimbursements:<\/b><\/p><p>Your deductible comes first, and then you&#039;ll receive reimbursement. It&#039;s often not even fully reimbursed, and not every health insurer offers it. It also depends on which supplementary package you have.<\/p><p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline\">Experience:<br \/><\/span>Founder Priscilla was diagnosed with two things in 2009: major depressive disorder and generalized anxiety disorder.<\/p><p>Thanks to all the treatments I&#039;ve received in the meantime (which, incidentally, didn&#039;t take place at a regular mental health care provider, but also with a private practitioner), I absolutely no longer have generalized anxiety disorder or depressive disorder. But it&#039;s still in my file.<\/p><p><b>Conclusion:<\/b><\/p><p>I can&#039;t get disability insurance because I was diagnosed with it in 2009.<\/p><p>We often see clients who have exhausted their treatment options or are considered too complex. &quot;Exhausted treatment&quot; often means they&#039;ve run out of sessions.
