This is a conscious choice made by owners Priscilla and Joost. We don't believe in diagnoses and imposed care. Unfortunately, this is the case when working with health insurers.

Disadvantages of health insurance:

- Long waiting times

- Diagnoses that must be given. For example, if your symptoms match the diagnosis of depressive disorder (this will be recorded in your medical record), and your health insurer reimburses 10 sessions, you will be reimbursed for ten sessions.

You will then be treated according to the depressive disorder protocol (using a specific checklist that you check off). If this isn't sufficient, you will have to re-register, and they can assess what else fits your situation. This does mean you will still receive a diagnosis.

Because your diagnosis(es) will be included in your medical record, this can have disadvantages for your future. For example, if you'd like to work in the military and you have these labels, you won't pass the psychological tests.

Besides being bound by those guidelines, you also have to fill out lengthy questionnaires with your clients. If something is wrong, it's returned to you and you have to fill it out again.

- The administrative time is so significant that you have to factor it into your session. Our sessions are 60 minutes long. If you work according to your health insurer's schedule, you should make that 45 minutes, as you'll need at least another 15 minutes for reporting.

We'd rather spend that time with you.

Reimbursements:

Your deductible comes first, and then you'll receive reimbursement. It's often not even fully reimbursed, and not every health insurer offers it. It also depends on which supplementary package you have.

Experience:
Founder Priscilla was diagnosed with two things in 2009: major depressive disorder and generalized anxiety disorder.

Thanks to all the treatments I've received in the meantime (which, incidentally, didn't take place at a regular mental health care provider, but also with a private practitioner), I absolutely no longer have generalized anxiety disorder or depressive disorder. But it's still in my file.

Conclusion:

I can't get disability insurance because I was diagnosed with it in 2009.

We often see clients who have exhausted their treatment options or are considered too complex. "Exhausted treatment" often means they've run out of sessions. Being at the back of the queue and "too complex" often means the care provided doesn't suit you personally.

So this is not at all up to you, but up to your doctor.

You'll work with experts with lived experience. The therapists are not only trained but also know what it's like to be on the other side of the table.

We require our therapists to have also addressed their own issues or, if they encounter any problems, to resolve them. During their onboarding process, we also address these support needs.

We want to avoid waiting lists. This is a major problem in healthcare. But how do we do this?

So far, we've managed to stay ahead of the waiting lists by hiring and training new therapists in advance. Once they're ready, new registrations can be passed on to colleagues. We're also closely monitoring how the programs are progressing. If a client progresses to a biweekly session, you're already in line.

The therapists are hired with the necessary experience. They then embark on an intensive program of learning and experiencing the WEEBER Method firsthand. This way, they know exactly which therapies you, as a client, will experience. Everyone knows exactly what they're doing.

The therapists also receive supervision and peer review, and their coach supports them in reviewing the clients they are supporting. We monitor progress and assess the therapist's progress during the sessions. If this presents a challenge, we address it immediately. After all, it's all about people, and we strive to remain professional and provide the best possible care at all times.

Everyone is welcome, from 0 to 100. In 2019, Priscilla started JongStressVRIJ (Young Stress Free), and in 2022, she added volwassenStressVRIJ (Adult Stress Free) and bedrijvenStressVRIJ (Business Stress Free). Our WEEBER Method is suitable for all ages.

EMDR isn't suitable for everyone. There's a small group for whom EMDR isn't suitable. We have other trauma therapy modalities in our practice that are suitable for this. We'll keep searching until we find the right one.

In addition to EMDR therapy, we also offer Exposure and Hypnotherapy. Training acting is also a very effective tool that can help process the trauma and allow new behaviors to take their place.

No, you don't have to believe in it. We sometimes jokingly say, the more skeptical the better. It's perfectly logical that you don't believe in it at first, because you have to experience it first before you can believe in it.

It has been scientifically proven that EMDR works and we experience it every day in our practice rooms that EMDR works!

All kinds of one-on-one trauma. This means, for example, that you suffered trauma during an accident, robbery, violent incident, confrontation with death, etc. These are events that occurred only once. These examples can often be resolved with one or two EMDR sessions (unless other traumatic events surface).

EMDR is also extremely well-suited for childhood trauma (also called life-course trauma). Childbirth trauma, relationship trauma, school trauma, bullying, insecure attachment, etc. Negative beliefs often develop here, and survival strategies are built on those negative beliefs. These survival strategies likely helped you very well as a child to literally survive. In your adult life, these survival strategies are no longer helpful but actually stagnate.

EMDR Rescripting is a gift for us in our organization every time. You literally rewrite a traumatic event by replacing it with a powerful one.

Example (trigger warning with further reading):

If you were abused in the past and are still deeply affected by it, we use EMDR to revisit that event. We first review the entire "film" and release the trapped emotions. Often, an event like abuse evokes a sense of powerlessness. By rescripting it, we remove that powerlessness and counter it with strength.

Example:

During the EMDR session, we go back to where the event happened. If you're 42 years old now and 10 years old at the time of the event, for example, we'll bring your adult self into the picture. It will help and, above all, support your 10-year-old self. This can be done in various ways:

- You stand next to your 10-year-old self and give her a hug and the support she needs

- In this case, we sometimes literally chop off the head of the abuser, send him away, curse him out, etc. This makes you feel powerful and no longer powerless.

What does this yield in the present:

You know how to support your 10-year-old girl and be there for her when you're triggered in certain situations. We've removed the trauma from the event, and you feel relieved and refreshed.

We can therefore apply this to all situations and it is extremely helpful in tackling the core of the problem.

I'd like to share my experience with my husband and I about the relationship therapy I received from Joost and Priscilla. Relationship therapy sounds difficult to us, but we recommend it to everyone, even if your relationship is currently strong! We attended therapy with Joost and Priscilla. It was very helpful and comforting to talk together. Sometimes we felt overwhelmed. Joost and Priscilla are very knowledgeable and can summarize topics effectively. We were given assignments to do at home, which we still use in our daily lives. It all sounds so logical, but only when you face it head-on can you work on it. Thank you for your wonderful help!

A wonderful, warm place where they genuinely seek out what I need to move forward. They look at the core of my problems. This has helped me enormously to break through patterns effectively.
