What is the process like?
After you register, we'll contact you to discuss your needs. Based on this initial consultation, we'll schedule an intake. During this intake, we'll discuss your expectations and symptoms, and together we'll determine whether EMDR is a suitable treatment method for you. Does it feel right? Then we'll begin the process—usually consisting of several sessions that we build up gradually. Sometimes one or two sessions are sufficient. For more complex issues, we'll take more time, always in consultation with you.
Our EMDR therapy is goal-oriented, but unhurried. Between sessions, there's time for reflection, and we'll continually check in with you to see how you're doing. At the end of the process, we'll explore together how you can maintain the changes you've achieved—and whether anything else is needed to strengthen your progress.
On-site or online therapy
You can choose how you prefer to receive therapy. We offer EMDR at various locations, namely Zwaagdijk-Oost, Zwaagdijk-West, and Tuitjenhorn. Prefer not to travel? Then online therapy via a secure video connection is an excellent alternative. During an online session, you and your therapist can see each other and communicate personally, just like in a face-to-face appointment.
