About the retreat

This retreat is entirely focused on personal development, strengthening self-image and identity, breaking destructive patterns, and learning to recognize and set boundaries. Assertiveness, self-awareness, and sustainable change are the common threads of the weekend.

The power of the group

Working in a group is an essential part of this retreat. You'll be with like-minded people who have shared similar experiences or are grappling with similar issues. This fosters a sense of connection and the profound realization: "I am not alone."“

Within a short time, a unique sense of brotherhood and connection develops. There's a lot of sharing, laughter, and sometimes even tears. The high level of safety and trust creates a close-knit group, a connection that often remains tangible and supportive even after the weekend.

Building up the weekend

Friday: Arrival & Safety

  • Reception and introduction
  • Establishing the foundation: safety, trust and group agreements
  • Introduction to the retreat and working method
  • First moments of reflection and light exercises
  • Start with lifeline

Saturday: Into the Depths
This day is all about awareness, processing and movement.

Parts:

  • Continuing with Lifeline
    • Participants wrote these at home in advance
    • Together we explore the moments where the core of the pain may lie
    • We believe in tackling the core: if you work there, you really make a clean sweep.
  • Inner child work
  • Disconnecting Trauma and Core Beliefs
  • Breaking patterns (including a systemic approach)
  • Circle of influence and concern

In addition:

  • Space for 1-on-1 moments with Priscilla or Joost
  • Meditation and stillness
    Silent walk on the estate
  • An accessible sports or game activity
    • Feasible for everyone
    • Focused on movement and playfulness
    • Movement releases what is sometimes impossible to capture in words
  • Regular moments of journaling for integration and reflection

Sunday: Anchoring & Looking Ahead

  • Review and deepening
  • Relapse prevention plan
    • Focused on sustainability
    • Ensuring that old behavior does not take over again
  • Inventorize:
    • Where is there still a need?
    • What do you take home with you?
  • Rounding off in connection with the group

Who are we?

The retreat is organized by StressVRIJ and led by Joost and Priscilla, founders of StressVRIJ. Together, they have over 30 years of experience guiding and treating people with both mild and severe mental health needs. They have also been working intensively with relationship therapy for four years.

Their approach is characterized by equality. Joost and Priscilla strongly believe in sharing personal experiences. Not to take over the conversation, but to normalize: you're not crazy, you're not weak, you're not alone. They don't hold themselves above the participants; everyone has their own baggage and life story.

Because we're keeping this retreat small, we believe it's important to find a good fit. That's why we schedule a short online meeting with each participant beforehand. During this meeting, you'll learn more about the retreat, have the opportunity to ask any questions, and we'll determine together whether this is the right time for you. This way, you can be sure this program is a good fit for your situation and desires.

Sustainable change

This retreat isn't a quick fix. It's an intensive, yet supportive weekend where real steps are taken. By working on the core, together with others and in a safe environment, change emerges that has a lasting impact on daily life.

You will not only go home with insights, but also with connection, clarity and concrete tools to continue living from who you truly are.

Practical information

  • Completely carefree: Catering is available throughout the weekend
    • Breakfast: 9:00 am
    • Lunch: 12:30 pm
    • Dinner: 6:30 PM
  • After dinner, the evenings are free to spend: together by the campfire with beautiful stories, connection and relaxation, or just a moment entirely for yourself.
